Battleships

Students draw several ships: one boat (X),  double boat (XX), another one of 3 pieces (XXX) and a cruise (XXXX).

Students need to ask questions by following the structure of Past Continuous:

For example: WAS / WERE + Subject + VERB ING + Complements?
 (Student 1)   Was Sue doing the washing up?    (Student 2)  No, she wasn’t

When a student finds out one boat, the partner should say: HIT

and when the boat has been hit in all its pieces, the student says: HIT AND SUNK.
